| MAY and JUNE ‘07 “R e a c h i n g the Philippine Islands for Christ” We will be in Indiana, Ohio & Michigan in July. Our daughter-Debbie will be 8 on July 22nd
DEAR FAITHFUL BRETHREN: “I Have A Song I Love To Sing, Since I Have Been Redeemed. Of My Redeemer, Savior, King, Since I Have Been Redeemed.” Rainier, a Filipino in Los Angeles had a mild stroke 7 years ago which caused him to think seriously about death. He was receptive to the Gospel, followed me in prayer and goes to one of our supporting Churches in L.A. I led a middle-aged man in Indiana who had “everything” but Christ on May 1st. He said, “I felt a difference, like a heavy load was lifted on my shoulder.” He has been going to Hillcrest Baptist on Sundays. After our ministry presentation in one home in California, 5 people came up to me asking me to lead them in a salvation prayer. “Since I Have Been Redeemed, Since I Have Been Redeemed I Will Glory In His Name; Since I Have Been Redeemed, I Will Glory In My Savior’s Name..” Over 200 street children are being fed, taught the Gospel story and many homes opened for Bible study by our Students at Higher Ground Bible College every Saturday in different locations in Manila. Then they feed them with rice soup. Hundreds of kids with their parents are getting saved every week. These children don’t have anything material to enjoy but you can see how happy they are, attentively listening to the Gospel story, and satisfied to have enough food for the afternoon. Debbie&Denise sang for 2nd graders in San Jose, CA. They shared how most children live in the Philippines. Children here are blessed with many things. As you enjoy the summer break, we encourage children in your Church to spend some time praying for our outreach ministry to very poor children in our country. And if God touches your heart to give, $10 per Saturday feeds 200 kids. Please write check to Higher Ground, memo-Feed the hungry and send it to our mission support agency, BEMA, in Ohio. Our trip to the south in June added 7 more of our Filipino Pastors who will receive support this year. Praise God! We will be in IN, OH and MI in July to encourage people in ”R e a c h i n g the Philippine Islands for Christ.” About our re-entry visa to the U.S., we will let you know, thru our prayer letter, once we get them. Please keep praying. REUEL and CHRISTINE TICA Missionaries reaching the Philippine Islands for Christ Cell phone number (765)977-4996

March 2007
“I Serve A Risen Savior He’s In The World Today. I Know That He Is Living Whatever Man May Say.” “I Hear His Hand Of Mercy, I Hear His Voice Of Cheer. And Just The Time I Need Him He’s Always Near.” Three people followed me in the sinner’s prayer in a Church in Virginia. Our mini-van needed a new starter and battery so we brought it to a shop in Northern Virginia before driving to Indiana. I shared the Gospel with two Korean people, who owned the shop, after they fixed it. With tears in their eyes, Charlie Suh and James Rhee prayed in their Korean language to accept Christ. On March 18th, I baptized the Rees family who we led to the Lord 6 months ago. “He Lives! He Lives! Christ Jesus Lives Today. He Walks With Me And Talks With Me Along Life’s Narrow Way.” “He Lives! He Lives! Salvation To Impart. You Ask Me How I Know He Lives? He Lives Within My Heart.” Alfred H. Ackley The Higher Ground Baptist Mission Pastors will have a Missions conference from April 23-29, 2007. The goal of the conference is to encourage our faithful Pastors to continue planting more Churches in their island. We believe that this effective method of having native Filipino Pastors starting Churches in a place where they are very familiar with the language, culture and environment is the best way to ”Reaching the Philippine Islands for Christ.” We are praying for all 104 Pastors to be in Manila, where our main office is, and have a time of refreshment and renewal in the week-long conference. We will be in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky & Illinois in April to encourage Churches to partner with our Church-planting ministry. Lift our immigration papers up in your prayers so we can return to our country to plant a Church. HE LIVES ! An Easter Music Concert by The TICA family On Good Friday, April6 At Philippine International Baptist Church In Taylor, Michigan Pray that souls will be saved!

| “I Know Not Why God’s Wondrous Grace To Me He Hath Made Known,” “Nor Why Unworthy Christ In Love Redeemed Me For His Own.” February 11 was the day Dionisia Salisid, a Filipino from West Harrison, Ohio prayed the sinner’s prayer. She’s been searching for God as a Roman Catholic, but found the truth when Christine read the Bible to her. A Filipino family of four is ready for baptism on March 18th. Lord willing, our family will reach more Filipinos in Richmond, Indiana and surrounding cities with the Gospel and follow in believer’s baptism. “But I Know Whom I Have Believed, And Am Persuaded That He Is Able To Keep That Which I’ve Committed Unto Him Against That Day.” Daniel Whittle and James McGranahan Thank God for the printing ministry of missionary-printer Larry Smith in Michigan. He asked me to translate his English tract to Filipino, then he printed 50,000 pieces and, with the donation of Victory Baptist in Titusville, Florida, we were able to send it to the Philippines to be given out during holy week. Our friend, Bro. Richard Watt of Word to the World ministry sent 1,200 New Testaments for our Churches in the islands of the Philippines. He and a friend preached and gave out Bibles in January. WE PRAY THAT CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH WOULD CONSIDER PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR CHURCH-PLANTING MINISTRY. We will be in Churches in Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio and Indiana in March encouraging Churches for partnership with nationals who were trained at our Bible school, Higher Ground Bible College, for Church planting. Over 90% of the 200 plus missionaries of our mission agency, B.E.M.A, in Columbus, Ohio are national Pastors. We are grateful to them and our sending Church, Hillcrest Baptist, in Richmond, Indiana for supporting our mission philosophy. Our family believes that ”Reaching the Philippine Islands for Christ” is more possible if we support national Pastors who already has a Church on an island and needs $100/month of personal support. It’s a unique but effective mission philosophy. Continue to pray for our immigration paper work. Then we will return to our country to plant a Church. | | |

JANUARY‘07 “Reaching the Philippine Islands for Christ” “There Is A Name I Love To Hear, I Love To Sing Its Worth” “It Sounds Like Music In My Ear, The Sweetest Name On Earth.” On January 14, I had the privilege to baptize Tess Coyner, a Filipino in Richmond, Indiana. We led her to the Lord last year. Her mother, Luisa, being a Roman Catholic was upset with her baptism. Tess invited her to Church on January 28th. She came and at the end of the service my wife led her to the Lord. A Filipino family of four is ready for baptism soon. They all attend Hillcrest Baptist, our sending Church. Praise God for the privilege to reach Filipinos during deputation. Let us continue to show our love for Jesus by sharing His love to people around us. Oh, How I Love Jesus! “Oh, How I Love Jesus, Oh, How I Love Jesus, Oh, How I Love Jesus, Because He First Loved Me.” Frederick Whitfield Through our family’s efforts, 42 Filipino Pastors are currently being supported on a monthly basis. This is not only wise stewardship of your mission money, but it is an incredible accomplishment that greatly benefits the cause of Jesus Christ. Bro. Allan Satira is our Pastor in Aklan island, 300 miles south of Manila, with over 500,000 population. He is one of the 62 Church-planting Pastors that need support. Recently, the Philippines suffered a typhoon (similar to a hurricane) as you can see the effect in the “before and after” photos inside their Church. Yet, they remain faithful. I’ve included an information sheet to encourage your Church to consider taking on one of these dedicated men of God. $100 a month would take care of their family’s needs like grocery, vitamins, medicine, clothing and others. For these Pastors to come to the U.S. to raise support would be next to impossible because of the difficulty to acquire a visa. Brethren, pray for us as we continue our presentations to encourage more Churches & individuals for partnership in “reaching the Philippine Islands for Christ.” Thank you for understanding God’s call for our family. Once our paper work is complete, we will return to the Philippines. We anticipate planting a Church in Quezon City. | | |
| December 2006 A bountiful New Year to you From the Tica family
“Rescue The Perishing, Care For The Dying, Snatch Them In Pity From Sin And The Grave.” “Weep O’er The Erring One, Life Up The Fallen, Tell Them Of Jesus The Mighty To Save.” Sunday, December 10, we left Chicago 5:00am to go to Indiana. Around 7:30am, our engine died and won’t start so I pulled over. We all fit in the tow truck, shared the Gospel with Chuck (driver), led him to Christ and got in time to sing and speak in Church. Chuck has heard the Gospel before but it took a Filipino missionary, who had engine trouble, to lead him to Christ. No coincidence! After I preached, Eric, 10, raised his hand for salvation. I talked with him about it then he followed me in the sinner’s prayer. Our family went caroling to AmeriCare home in Indiana. Josephine, a 98-year-old lady prayed to accept Christ with my wife. A Filipino couple, about to get married, asked for counseling on December 22. At the end of our conversation, they both made a salvation decision. Christmas Eve, a Filipino tele-marketer, Marlon, offer phone cards to me. He prayed to receive Christ after we talked. Whatever situation God puts us in, there will always be an opportunity to God’s “lighthouse” to Rescue the perishing. “Rescue The Perishing, Care For The Dying. Jesus Is Merciful. Jesus Will Save.” Fanny J. Crosby Praise GOD for the youth camp this December! They had 120 youth and 8 surrendered to full-time ministry! Praise the Lord for over 3,000 children who had a great time in the Feed-the-hungry ministry this Christmas. 78 received Christ. Our daughter, Debbie, was saved on December ’04. She asked me to baptize her this New Year’s Eve at Hillcrest Baptist Church. We continue our presentations to encourage Churches & individuals for partnership in “reaching the Philippine Islands for Christ.” Please remember to uphold our immigration papers in your prayers. We thank God for Pastor Martin Holman and Hillcrest Baptist Church – our sending Church helping us thru the process. Once we get this paperwork done, we will go back to the Philippines to plant a Church. Thank you for praying with us and understanding God’s call for our family.
